Graphic Design FAQs

Graphic design is the process of creating visual concepts and elements—such as typography, images, colors, and shapes—, aided by the use of computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and engage consumers. Graphic designers are responsible for everything from brand and visual identity design to marketing and advertising design, digital and web design, infographic design, print illustration, packaging design, motion graphic design, and user interface design.

We employ a proven 5-step graphic design process to ensure we create visually content that effectively communicates clients’ messaging to their target audience.

1. Creative brief. The creative brief serves as the foundation of the design project. It outlines project goals and scope, branding guidelines, target audience, as well as design specs and requirements

2. Graphic design research. Research is key to the design process. It allows the designer to develop a better understanding of competition and the target audience. It involves researching competitors’ designs, looking at target audience preferences, and industry trends.

3. Brainstorm and ideation. Before going full bore into the design process, we will brainstorm ideas and present them to you. This ensures all design concepts are on target and in line with project goals and expectations.

4. Review at the 10/50/99 stages. The 10/50/99 feedback process ensures we’re on the same page with you throughout the entire design process. At 10% completion, an outline and wireframe will be presented. At this stage, you can provide feedback on the vision and direction of the design. At 50% completion, the design is coming together and you can verify the design is meeting the agreed upon direction and vision. At 99% completion, you can provide fine feedback on design elements including spacing, color, and other “tweaks”.

5. Final design presentation. The design is completed and final files are created. The design is implemented in the chosen mediums.
